Rich specimen of intergrown brown crystals of the carbonate-rich variety of fluorapatite. The translucent crystals measure to 2.5 mm and are very attractive under the microscope. This variety of fluorapatite (unfortunately now known as Apatite-CaF) has carbonate group molecules substituting for some of the phosphate groups molecules in the crystal lattice.
