Africa025 - Mimetite with Azurite and Wulfenite - Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia

This superb, rare combination specimen from Tsumeb has two major mimetite crystals arranged in a "vee" with gemmy blue tabular azurite and small wulfenite crystals. The mimetite crystals are perfect, striated and gemmy, measuring to 1.9 cm. However, there appears to have been another crystal perpendicular to the surface which has broken off. The matrix is comprised of dolomite with clear calcite rhombs and fluoresces under both LW and SW ultraviolet. The back is sawn where it was extracted from the matrix.
