From the find in the late 1970's, this is an excellent small cabinet specimen of violet hydroxylherderite on a matrix of tan lepidolite. The doubly-terminated crystal on the left measures 1.9 cm and the large vertical crystal measures 1.0 cm. Both are undamaged. There are numerous smaller crystals scattered on the matrix. 7.0 x 5.3 x 2.1 cm.
The crystals of violet hydroxylherderite from this find are considered the finest in the world. For more information, please see Rocks & Minerals Vol. 63, pg. 389 or the Mindat locality page.
