Europe063 - Gwindel Quartz - Furka Pass Area, Goms, Wallis, Switzerland

Excellent open gwindel of very pale quartz, with a noticeable, moderate twist. I find these crystals much more attractive than the usual dark smoky specimens. In addition, the crystal is absolutely water-clear, as can be seen in the photos. Unlike most specimens from this area, it is on a matrix of massive quartz. The lower left is contacted where it was attached to matrix, otherwise it is undamaged. The photograph is by Joe Budd. 8.3 x 7.9 x 6.6 cm.
