Afg016 - Afghanite - Rabot, Koksha Valley, Badakhshan, Afghanistan

Extremely sharp, gem quality afghanite crystal on a calcite matrix with microcrystalline pyrite. The afghanite, which has exceptional color, measures 1.3 cm. It fluoresces a bright creamy yellow under LW UV. This is the finest small afghanite specimen which I have seen. The last photo is backlit. No damage. 2.5 x 2.5 x 2.2 cm.
