Africa112 - Cuprite on Chrysocolla with Malachite - Mashamba West Mine, Kolwezi District, Katanga Copper Crescent, Katanga (Shaba), Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaïre)

The light blue chrysocolla of this specimen provides an excellent contrast to highly lustrous, red cuprite crystals which measure to 1.2 cm. There is also some bright green sprays of primary malachite present; the sprays measure to about 6 mm. I believe the brown crystals present are baryte. 4.5 x 3.3 x 2.9 cm.
