EMR-I141 - Wollastonite - Monte Somma, Somma-Vesuvius Complex, Naples Province, Campania, Italy

Sprays of the rare inosilicate wollastonite (to about 4 mm) line a protected vug in typical volcanic matrix from Monte Somma. Wollastonite is actually a group of several polytypes crystallizing in both the triclinic and monoclinic systems. The wollastonite is undamaged.
