Ex. Edward Ruppell (1834); Senckenberg Museum
Historic specimen of polychrome elbaite, pinkish orthoclase, and quartz on matrix. This specimen dates to 1834, with labels from the Senckenberg Museum indicating the donation by Ruppell. The elbaite varies from green to colorless to almost black, and measures to 9 mm; some crystals are unterminated. The largest orthoclase crystal is doubly-terminated and measures 2.8 cm. From my personal collection. 10.5 x 6.6 x 5.0 cm.
