This specimen is composed almost entirely of cubo-octahedral crystals of galena measuring to almost 4 cm. There are some small crystals of golden sphalerite interspersed among the galena. Overall, the specimen is in excellent shape, with a couple of very small cleavages on two small crystals. Based on the crystal shape, I believe this specimen came from the Brownley Hill mine. For more information on Brownley Hill, see Mineralogical Record, 31, 231-250. 8.6 x 7.1 x 4.8 cm.
