Gem067 - Chrysoberyl var. Alexandrite - Novello Mine, Masvingo, Zimbabwe

Twinned and single crystals of translucent alexandrite to 1.8 cm on a micaceous matrix. Zimbabwean alexandrites are know for their excellent color change; these crystals show an excellent color change from a dark green to reddish-purple. Undamaged and excellent. The third photo shows the specimen under alternate lighting. Comes with a custom acrylic base. First and third photos are by Joe Budd. 5.1 x 4.1 x 3.1 cm.
