At the InnSuites Hotel, John and Maryann Fender had a nice lot of creedites from the classic Mexican find. These specimens were in the inventory of Consie Prince, a long-time mineral dealer in Houston. They all featured excellent, large violet crystals. Most indicated a Santo Domingo Mine locality, but I suspect they are actually from the Potosi Mine; I therefore am using the more general West Camp locality. I selected four specimens based on their value and visual interest.
This is a terrific miniature specimen of creedite featuring sharply terminated lavender crystals to 1.6 cm. They are quite prominently displayed on a pyrite laden matrix. There are a couple of cleaved crystals and the rest are sharply terminated. Excellent luster and color. 4.6 x 3.2 x 2.4 cm.
