Ex. Charles Hoadley
Historic specimen, dating at least to the mid-1800's, of bipyramidal quartz with specular hematite from this classic English locality. The quartz and hematite sit on a shell of "kidney ore" hematite. The quartz, measuring to 2.3 cm, is in excellent shape; the hematite shows some bruising as seen in the photos. Comes with an old label from Charles Hoadley, who was a prominent Northeast collector in the early 1900's (see his biography here). 7.3 x 6.6 x 2.3 cm.
