Classic050 - Chalcocite - Illogan, Redruth-St Day District, Cornwall, England, UK

The dull gray matrix of this specimen is covered with excellent, lustrous chalcocite crystals to about 5.5 mm. As can be seen in the photos, the crystals exhibit a classic prismatic form and are almost completely undamaged. From the habit and matrix, this specimen is most likely from Carn Brea, but I cannot confirm that. 7.3 x 5.3 x 4.2 cm.
